.
HEALTH OF YOUR NEW PUPPY: To the best of my knowledge every puppy is in good health and condition. You, the buyer, must have the puppy seen by a licensed vet within 72 hours of pickup. All sales are final with the exception of untreatable conditions found by a vet. Should the vet find said puppy in in poor health, his written report that the condition or illness was caused by conditions that existed prior to the date of ownership was transferred, this puppy agreement and the puppy must be returned for a full refund. I, the seller, will not be responsible for ANY medical expenses. Treatable conditions are not covered by the 72 hour vet check. Your vet will recommend a proper vaccination schedule. It is your responsibility to make sure the puppy is properly cared for after leaving my property. This includes continuing the puppy vaccinations, worming and heart worm treatment.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS: I, the breeder, make no guarantees or warranty that you, the buyer, will be able to show or breed this puppy regardless of its potential. No guarantee is made as to the weight, color, coat length or temperament.
We, as breeders, can "guesstimate" but cannot guarantee adult size. Some puppies stop growing and others get larger than expected. We cannot guarantee color to stay the same in an adult as a puppy. As the puppy grows, some coloration shows up more and some less. We, as breeders, cannot guarantee that a puppy will be a breeder. There are many variables: for the female; adult size, structure of pelvis etc. and for the male; adult size, low sperm production, no interest in breeding, etc.
If for any reason you are unable to care for and keep your Chihuahua, I will take the Chihuahua back and care for him/her so that you do not have to find a responsible home or have to worry if the Chihuahua will be taken care of properly. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR THESE CIRCUMSTANCES.
NOTE: This contract does NOT cover Hypoglycemia (Low Blood Sugar) or Coccidia (Loose Stools). It is the responsibility of you, the pet owner, to make sure that the puppy is eating and drinking on a regular basis.
Hypoglycemia is a condition in which the blood sugar level drops to an extremely low lever, causing a "sugar attack". When levels of glucose in the blood drop rapidly, the puppy's body and brain are deprived of essential nutrients. The results of hypoglycemia can be weakness, seizures, coma, and In severe cases, death.
Because Chihuahuas are so small, they can be prone to hypoglycemia, especially when they are very young. It can also be caused by stress, change of environment, illness, lack of food, or by using up stored energy without it being replenished.
It is very important to make sure that young puppies and very tiny Chihuahuas eat regularly (leave food out) through out the day. Another preventative for hypoglycemia is regular feeding of a high calorie supplement called Nutri-Cal. You can find it at the Vet or pretty much any pet store.
Symptoms to look for Include: Vomiting, Diarrhea, Listlessness, Pale white gums, Staggering gait and Refusal to eat.
If you are experiencing an emergency and do not have Nutri-Cal, you can use Karo Syrup.
This information is not intended to replace the advice of your Vet. If you suspect your puppy has hypoglycemia, you SHOULD seek medical attention immediately.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Coccidiosis can be caused by stress and can develop within hours into transport or upon moving the puppy from its former home. It has nothing to do with good or bad breeding. I keep the puppies very clean so they are not standing in feces. All of my puppies are happy and healthy at the time of leaving.
Symptoms to look for Include: Diarrhea with mucus and blood, poor appetite, vomiting and dehydration. If not treated, over time it can damage the puppies intestinal tract or worse yet kill them if it gets too bad. So if you watch your puppy for a few days and he/she seems stressed out, please check their stool. Seek medical attention if you suspect your puppy has Coccidiosis. My vet recommends Albon but I know that there are other medications that can treat it also. I have bought puppies with it before so I know that it is easily treatable.
** All puppies are working on potty pad training and are eating Nutrisource hard puppy food. I am sending home a puppy pack with a sample of the food in it. If you choose to change your puppies food, please mix the Nutrisource Puppy in with the new food so that they can transition over and do not get a tummy ache and diarrhea. Your puppy will go home with his/her first vetting, be dewormed multiple times and also have a health check with shot record.**
Never hesitate to contact me with any questions. I am always here to help if I can. No question too stupid to ask.
